About This Offer
NatWest is now showing a £200 switch offer for eligible switchers on its Select and Reward accounts. We checked the official NatWest switch and Reward account pages on 17 May 2026: the live public wording has moved on from the older February £150 offer and now uses a 06 May 2026 current-account cut-off.
Compared with some rival offers, the conditions are still fairly light: no debit card spend target and no direct-debit count to hit.
Why NatWest?
NatWest is one of the UK's "big four" banks with a solid all-round current account:
- Select option - a standard current account with no monthly fee
- Good mobile app - modern, well-rated banking app
- Large branch and ATM network - widespread UK coverage
- Reward option - cashback-style rewards are available if you choose the fee-paying Reward account
- Straightforward banking - no frills, reliable everyday account
How to Qualify
The requirements are among the simplest of any switching offer:
- Full CASS switch - switch an existing current account to NatWest
- Pay in £1,250 within 60 days of switching - NatWest says this can be made up of multiple payments and must stay in the account for 24 hours
- Log into the NatWest app - this can be done on a compatible device that supports the NatWest mobile banking app
- Wait for the reward check - NatWest says payment arrives within 30 days once the conditions are met
That's it. No direct debit requirements, no minimum spending.
Decision Checklist
Use this quick check before applying:
| Question | Why it matters |
|---|---|
| Have you ever had a NatWest Group cash switch reward? | Prior NatWest, RBS, or Ulster switch rewards can exclude you |
| Did you hold a NatWest current account on 06 May 2026? | NatWest names this as a key exclusion in the live offer wording |
| Can you move £1,250 through the account within 60 days? | This is the main funding condition |
| Can you complete app login quickly? | The app login is part of the qualifying criteria |
| Are you happy with Select or Reward as the destination account? | The Reward account can have ongoing conditions and fees |
If any answer is uncertain, read the live NatWest terms before starting the CASS switch. Eligibility is harder to fix after the old account has already closed.
Expected Timeline
| Stage | Practical timing |
|---|---|
| Apply and request switch | While the £200 offer remains live |
| Switch completes | The CASS process can complete in 7 working days once arranged |
| Pay in and app login | Within 60 days of the switch completing |
| Bonus payment | NatWest says within 30 days of meeting the conditions |
The safest workflow is to set calendar reminders on the day you request the switch, the switch completion day, and 45 days after completion. That gives you time to fix a missed pay-in or app-login step before the 60-day window closes.
Is It Worth It?
At £200, NatWest is one of the strongest live cash-switch offers currently covered on SideGuide. The 60-day window for the pay-in is generous, and there's no spending or direct debit requirement - just deposit the money and log into the app.
If you're switching multiple banks, NatWest fits easily into the rotation as a low-effort option.
Who Should Skip It?
Skip or delay this offer if you are close to a mortgage application, dislike hard searches, cannot comfortably route £1,250 through the account, or are not sure whether a previous NatWest/RBS/Ulster Bank reward excludes you.
It may also be less attractive if you want an account with stronger long-term perks than the initial bonus, or if another provider's eligibility rules are cleaner for your banking history.
Important Notes
- NatWest says the offer is aimed at customers who did not hold a NatWest current account on 06 May 2026
- NatWest also says you must not have received a previous NatWest Group cash switch incentive
- NatWest says you cannot qualify by switching from NatWest Group, including Royal Bank or Ulster Bank
- The offer can be changed, replaced, or withdrawn at any time
- The 60-day pay-in window is one of the most generous available, giving you plenty of time
- No direct debit or spending requirements makes this one of the easiest switches to complete
